INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM- A THREAT TO INTERNATIONAL PEACE AND SECURITY
Abstract
For the global peace and security particularly to India's national security, terrorism has become the greatest threat. Arms and ammunitions are easily available, and the terrorist organisations have increased their purchasing capacity to buy them as they have both technology and trained personnel to operate it. The ideals of democracy and freedom are being immensely effected by terrorism and also causing a serious challenge to the existence, progress and development of humankind. The need of the hour is not only to have stringent provisions for prevention of terrorism but also their strict implementation. In a country like India we need to have strict execution of laws only then we could be able to combat terrorism. In fact the need for special laws to combat terrorism cannot be under estimated, actually the problem lies with the implementation of laws and the abuse of powers conferred on the authorities under the special laws.
